About CCURISA

CCURISA is a chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA). The chapter is a nonprofit registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and is called The Chesapeake Chapter. Membership consists of local, state, county, federal and private sector employees who work with mapping resources and other related information systems.

Resources are often mapped using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), but with the growth of Internet technologies, and opensource software development, mapping tools are often as close as a computer linked to the Internet.

Our mission is to help advance the skills of technicians, teams, citizenry, small business, and neighborhood leaders in the mapping of resources in Maryland, Virginia, West Virgina, and the District of Columbia.

Membership to the Chesapeake Chapter is free.
